Help:Editing
The Apocalypse website is based around MediaWiki. As a wiki, every page has an edit button, so that anyone may add and contribute to the website. Security on this particular wiki is pretty light right now. It will be improved in the near future.
Please check Help:Conventions before making edits.
Registering
As of this writing, it's not necessary to register on the wiki prior to editing. This will be changed soon to prevent vandalism. Users should register before making any edits. Please make sure you're logged in while editing.
Creating pages
New pages are created by editing a page that does not yet have any content. There are two main ways to "create" these pages: link to a page that doesn't exist, or type in the page name in your browser's location bar. The first method is preferred, as it ensures that new pages are always linked to from at least one other page.
To create a link, use the double-bracket wiki code: [[My new page]] will output My new page. Note the special styling of the link indicating that the page does not yet exist. Clicking the link will allow you to edit the new page.
Making changes
Making changes to the wiki is fairly straightforward. In every page footer is an "Edit" button. Clicking this button will bring up a text box with the page contents. Preview and save the page when you're done editing, and optionally leave a summary of changes.
MediaWiki markup has a slight learning curve. Follow the examples on the Meta site, or edit a few pages to get a feel for the markup already in use. Check Help:Conventions before you make edits, as well.
